Kurt E. Kline, 69, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022, with family at his side.
He was born on May 18, 1953, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Barton and Marian (Nisley) Kline. He attended rural school District #3 through 6th grade. He then attended school in Lexington. As a sophomore in high school, in 1969, through Dawson County 4-H, he was a part of the Nebraska State Champion Livestock Judging Team and competed in the International Exposition in Chicago. He graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1971. After graduation, Kurt decided to take a year to backpack throughout Europe. Then back to Nebraska he went to complete an Ag Business degree at the University of Nebraska, in Lincoln.
His first employment was as a loan officer at Production Credit in Kearney. From there he offered to take over the farming operation on the family farm east of Lexington. Kurt farmed for 37 years. When he retired, he continued to manage the farm.
He was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Lexington where he sometimes sang in the choir.
Kurt served on the Central Platte Natural Resources District for several terms and was active in Farm Bureau, holding all offices including President. He spear-headed the Spring Creek Project to control flooding east of Lexington. He received the Ag Service Award from the Lexington Chamber of Commerce in 2014.
Kurt enjoyed repurposing old farm equipment into metal sculptures. He had a vast collection of various sizes and colors of marbles.
Survivors include three brothers, Bart (Linda) Kline of Boise, Idaho, Scott (Diana) Kline of Sun City West, Arizona, and Todd (Ruth) Kline of Hastings Nebraska; two sisters, Christin (Rick) Roffers of Fremont, Nebraska, and Gretchen (Bob) Bricker of Colorado Springs, Colorado; ten nieces and nephews and 17 great nieces and nephews.
Kurt was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Pastor Velma Tim, officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery prior to the Memorial Service.

Daniel Arthur Holliday, 69, died August 3, 2022 in Lincoln, NE.
Dan was born November 12, 1952 in Lexington, NE, son of William and Elaine (Johnson) Holliday. He grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School. Growing up and into his adult years he attended the United Methodist Church in Lexington.
Dan enjoyed playing billiards and spending time in the shop doing woodworking. He was meticulous about mowing the yard and made sure that the lines were just right. He loved Eagles and enjoyed collecting different Eagle figures and beer steins over the years. He was married to Janet (Smith) Henderson for 18 years and had two children.
Survivors include son, Matthew (Shayla) Holliday; daughter, Stacey (Nate) Loose ; four grandchildren; brother, Rodney Holliday of Waxahachie, TX; and numerous cousins and extended family.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents William and Elaine Holliday.
Graveside Services will be held Monday, August 8, 2022 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Lexington, NE.

Linda Sue Rath, age 71, of Elwood, Nebraska passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Phelps Memorial Hospital, Holdrege, Nebraska. She was born on February 1, 1953 in Lexington, Nebraska to Robert and Leona (Brown) Ottman.
She grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with class of 1971. She married Steven Rath on July 18, 1973. To this union, two sons were born; Nathan 10/31/1975 and Christopher 7/9/1977. They would move to Elwood, Nebraska in November of 1982, she would work at the Bertrand Nursing Home, Elwood Care Center, Elwood Market, and the Green Lantern Cafe in Elwood.
She enjoyed playing bingo, going to garage sales with her friends, maintaining flowers in the front yard. She spent time drinking coffee with friends at West's Drive In and going to casinos to play slot machines. She spent time with family in the Black Hills and enjoyed seeing her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Steve Rath, sons Nathan and Christopher, sisters Nita Worthen Diana Lindskov, brother-in-law David Worthen, Dwight Lindskov In-laws Donna Rath, Michael Rath, Amanda Rath, Tim Smith, Nieces and Nephews - Mary Rath, Briana Rath, Greg Smith (Becky), Amanda Hollida (Steven), Matthew Smith(Laura), Jordan Coll, Jasmine Linscott, Jeremy Rath, Jennifer Rath, Sidney, Hunter, Abigail Rath, Angela Kuhlman (Mike), Jennifer Iverson(David). Grandkids, Jackson Rath, Shayla Foster, Canon Rath, Sabree Rath, Aryan Rath, great nieces and nephews great grandkids Kobyn Foster, Karson Foster. Also survived by family Cyndi Horn (mother of Shayla and Canon Rath), Christi Rath (mother of Jackson Rath).
Preceded in death by her parents Robert and Leona Ottman, in-laws Hugh and Dolores Rath, Sister In Laws, Deborah Smith, Beverly Dyke and brother in law Everett Dyke, brother-in-law Ronald Rath, Eileen Rath (wife of Hugh Rath).
There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial service will be Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Elwood Christian Church, with Pastor Murray Jones, officiating. Inurnment will follow at Elwood Cemetery, Elwood, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to the Elwood Fire Department. Elwood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
