Sue Keller
Sue Dell Keller, 82, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at her home in Lexington.
Sue Dell was born March 10, 1944 to Odessa Stephens Smith in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She met her amazing Dad when her mom met and fell in love with Roy Emil Jensen of Kearney, NE on January 22, 1945. One year later, she became a big sister to Linda Nell Jensen. The family lived in Hot Springs, AR and Kearney, NE before moving to Lexington, NE in 1958. Sue graduated with the Lexington High School Class of 1962.
On June 9, 1962, she married Lonnie Eby of Overton, NE. This union was blessed with two children: Deborah Lynne Eby and Lonnie Michael Eby. They were Sue’s pride and joy! The couple divorced after 20 years of marriage.
In March of 1984, Sue met and fell in love with her soulmate, Kermit Loren Keller at a Parents Without Partners meeting.
Sue was always a very busy lady and belonged to several organizations. She was a T.O.P.S. (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) leader, Area Captain, State Coordinator which meant she chaired State Convention; at church, she taught Sunday School and Bible School and helped with funeral dinners and various groups at church, including Bible Studies; she was the Lexington Area Christian Women’s Connection co-leader, leader, and correspondence chair; she especially enjoyed being involved in the “Movin’ On” Widow’s Support Group.
Her hobbies included crocheting, counted cross-stitch, cake decorating and all crafts. Her “happy place” was Party Planning. Sue prided herself by complimenting people and doing things for them. If they found out “who did it,” she said it didn’t count!
Sue remembers attending church in Arkansas with her Gramma Stephens and then in Lexington with her Mom and sister, so after she married, she kept the tradition. She was baptized at Johnson Lake at 14 years old. Through life she continued her Christian life, but it took God helping her survive the loss of Kermit for her to deepen her faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Lynne Eby Kosmicki of Nashville, TN; son, Lonnie Michael “Mike” Eby and wife Lisa of Lake Havasu, AZ; grandchildren: Lindsey Thompson and husband Pete of Kearney, Andrew Eby and wife Nikita of Greeley, CO, Jacque Miranda and husband Alex of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren: Emmy, Everly and Brayden Eby and Aubrey Miranda; bonus great-grandsons: Mason and Easton Thompson (and one new great); and three angel babies. Step-children: Wayne Keller and wife Kris of Gibbon NE, Gordon Keller and wife Dee of Dawson NE, Becky Zimmerman and husband Kenny of Gibbon NE, and Ginger Marx and husband Dave of Lyons, CO; four step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Young and husband Eugene Young of Lexington; two nieces, Barbara Young and husband Bernie of Kearney, Carolyn Kulhanek and husband Corty and nephew Donnie Young and wife Marsha, all of Lexington; along with several Eby nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Keller, father Roy Emil Jensen, mother Odessa Stephens Jensen, grandparents Will and Nettie Stephens and AC and Christina Jensen, mother-in-law Mayme Eby and in-laws Carl and Irene Keller.
Funeral Services will be on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the LexChristian Church in Lexington with Pastor James Morton, officiating. The service will be livestreamed via the LexChristian Church website: lexchristianchurch.com
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Following the meal, Graveside Services will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon.
