A Funeral Service for Deannah K. Fetters will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Holdrege, Nebraska, with Pastor Kenton Birtell, officiating. Interment will follow at the Prairie Home Cemetery, Holdrege, Nebraska.
Deannah Kay Fetters, 85 years of age, of rural Bertrand, Nebraska, passed away unexpectedly following a long and courageous battle with cancer, on Monday, July 27, 2026, at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney, Nebraska. Deannah was born on May 20, 1941, in Kearney, Nebraska, the youngest of two children born to Lyle F. and Elaine L. (Sweny) Burkey. She was a talented singer and in grade school, she was selected to sing during the Uncle Mike Show on KRVN Radio and was then asked to return each Saturday. She attended Lexington Public Schools and graduated with the class of 1959. 
In June of 1958, Deannah was united in marriage to Ronnie Rogers at the Methodist Church in Lexington. The union was blessed with five children: Ronda, Debra, Randall, Ryan, and Jeffrey. The family made their home in Lexington, where Deannah helped build the family business as well as raise a busy family.
In December of 1992, she was united in marriage to Rodney Fetters at Longmont, Colorado, and they made their home in Kearney, where Deannah worked as a cook at Park Elementary School in Kearney. In later years, she worked as a seamstress at The Bridal Isle in Loomis, Nebraska. She loved that she was able to help her granddaughters select their wedding gown.
In her free time, Deannah enjoyed tending her garden and then canning the many “fruits of her labor”! She was an excellent cook, especially her homemade tomato soup.
Deannah was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Holdrege, and will be remembered for her selflessness and was a true lady, in how she carried herself, dressed, and cared for others. She could also be quite onery and determined.
Deannah enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially following their many activities on Facebook.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Larry Burkey and wife, Eileen; and mother-in-law, Darlene Fetters.
Deannah leaves to celebrate her life: her husband, Rodney Fetters of rural Bertrand; her children: Ronda Maloley and her husband, Mike of Johnson Lake; Debra Klein and husband, Chub of Fremont; Randy Rogers and his wife, Beth of Lexington; Ryan Rogers and wife, Stacy of Alma; and Jeff Rogers and wife, Sara of Lexington; a step-son, Michael Ray Fetters of Loomis; 14 grandchildren: Travis Maloley (Katie) of Lexington; Torri (Jared) McCracken of Lexington; Terah (Connor) Williams of Elm Creek; Desiree (Tyler) Kenney of Kearney; Dawn (Ben) Hansen of Fremont; Dustin (Gentry) Klein of Fremont; Ross Rogers of Lincoln; Haley (fiancé, Jacob Brown) Rogers of Callaway; Lindsey (Caleb) McKeever of Wymore; Ty (Emily) Rogers of Wisner; Skylar (Will) Price of Goldsboro, North Carolina; Colby Rogers of Cozad; Jakeb (Isabelle) Rogers of Ashton; and Kaden Fetters of Broken Bow; 22 great-grandchilden; father-in-law, Floyd Fetters; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws: Bob Fetters of Dunning, Nebraska; Randy (Sandy) Fetters of Jetmore, Kansas; Rich (Virginia) Fetters of Loomis; Mary Lambrecht of Holdrege; and Roger (Teri) Fetters of Holdrege; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and many friends.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson-Bauer Funeral Home in Holdrege, with the family greeting from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
