Daniel Dorwart
Daniel C. Dorwart, age 75, of Plymouth. Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died of pneumonia Saturday, March 8, 2008 surrounded by those who loved him dearly.
Preceded in death by his son, Danny.
Survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy; children, Amy Thering and her husband Ray, MaryBeth Heilman and her husband Mark, Michael Dorwart and his wife Nancy, Dr. Andrew Dorwart and his wife Dr. Kathy, Sara Kenefick and her husband Mike, Philip Dorwart and his wife Desiree and foster son, Tao Nguyen and his wife HongHanh; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Dorwart; sister, Penny Dorwart; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
Daniel was born August 15, 1932 in Lexington, Nebraska. He served in the Navy during the Korean War, loved his family, football and boating and had a strong faith in God. He was affectionately known as "Poppy" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 155 County Road 24, Medina, Minnesota 55391, with visitation one hour prior to mass at church. John Hatting
John Lee Hatting, 74, of Stromsburg, formerly of Lexington, died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007, at Midwest Covenant Home in Stromsburg.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with the Rev. Todd Karges officiating.
Burial of cremains will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington. There will be no visitation. The body was cremated. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
He was born May 9, 1932, south of Lexington to William and Emma (Foss) Hatting.
Graduated from Lexington High School Class of 1950.
On Oct. 2, 1971, he married Jane Dugan in Lexington. Survivors include his brother, Bill of Lexington; and stepdaughters, Faith and Becky.
Lois Karr
Lois Lorraine Karr, 94, of Grand Island, formally of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Riverside Lodge retirement community in Grand Island, Nebraska.
She was born on April 17, 1931, in Arapahoe, Nebraska to John and Nellie (Hayworth) Michel. She was born on a farm south of Elwood, Nebraska and in 1936, the family moved to Lexington. She attended school in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1950. 
Lois worked for many years for her family at Northwestern Bell, Dr. Ted Anderson, DDS, Sperry New Holland and Farmers State Bank.
On July 30, 1950, Lois was united marriage to Gerald Tomasek in Lexington. Two children were blessed to this union; Scott and Kelly. She would later wed William Karr in Cozad, Nebraska. Lois welcomed two adult stepchildren, Mike and Nancy, to this union.
Lois was baptized in the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington and served as a faithful long-time member. She dedicated many years of service at the church, working in different areas.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Scott (Terry) Tomasek of Basehor, Kansas and Kelly (Steve) Schneider of Marana, Arizona: grandchildren, Tucker (Jayme)Tomasek of Snohomish, Washington, Trista (AMANDA) Tomasek of Basehor, Kansas and great grandson, Lincoln Tomasek of Basehor, Kansas: stepchildren Mike (LeAnn) Karr of Henderson, Nevada and Nancy (John) Abel of Montrose, Colorado as well as numerous step-grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Lois was proceeded in death by her husband, William Karr, and siblings, Phyllis (Roger) Mueller, Eugene (Peggy) Michel, Geraldine Jorn, and Carol (Karl) Lofshult.
To honor Lois’s wishes cremation has taken place, and family graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials can be sent to the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, Nebraska.

Marilyn Larsen
Marilyn J. Larsen, 77, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington.
She was born April 9, 1933, at Lexington, Nebraska to Daniel and Mildred (Martin) Roether. Marilyn attended school at Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1950. During high school Marilyn worked at Westerman's Drug Store and Lexington Floral.
Marilyn was united in marriage to James Larsen on September 10, 1950, at Lexington. Two children were blessed to this marriage; Ann and Chris.
Marilyn always enjoyed keeping a beautiful home, entertaining and would jump at the chance to help a friend with their children's graduations or weddings. She spent many years as Hospitality Coordinator at the First United Methodist Church, worked for the election commission at District #15 school for many years and kept the books for Larsen Land & Livestock since becoming incorporated in 1976.
She loved collecting antiques, especially pottery and when the children were young she could be found helping with 4-H projects and serving at 4-H leader for several years. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church.
Marilyn was a lovely lady who will always be remembered for her love of family, her hospitality and her generosity.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years: James Larsen of Lexington, Nebraska, One son and daughter-in-law: Chris (Kira) Larsen of Lexington, Nebraska, One daughter and son-in-law: Ann (Frank) Albertson of Lakewood, Colorado, Three Grandchildren: Jamie (Joseph, III) Adessa, of Watkins, Colorado; Nathan R. Philips and partner, Jenifer Mettler of Lincoln, Nebraska; Ashley Larsen of Lexington, Nebraska, Six great-grandchildren: Jaelyn, Jacob, Taylor & Lily Philips of Lincoln, Nebraska and Joseph, IV and Jaden Adessa of Watkins, Colorado, Uncle & Aunt: Henry and LaRue Roether of Lexington, Nebraska, One niece, two nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; Marvin and Ernest in infancy and one nephew.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Thane Moore officiating. Burial will be held prior to the Memorial Service at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 15, 2010, from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the Heartland Military Museum or the First United Methodist Church. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements. Jim Mallet
James ‘Jim’ Mallet, 84 of Arizona passed away Feb. 29, 2016. He was born on Dec. 31, 1931 in Lexington, NE. His parents were Mark Edward and Gertrude (Campbell) Mallett. He grew up and attended schools in Lexington, NE graduating with the class of 1950.
On October 22, 1955 he married Jean Odstrcil in Lexington and they moved to Colorado in 1959. Jim served in the National Guard for 10 years and then began his career as a fireman with Denver Fire Dept in 1960. He retired in 1985. In 1970, he started Transco Inc., servicing trucking companies in Greeley and later across the country.
He enjoyed Nebraska and CU football, UNC Volleyball in Greeley, CO Rockies, as well as gardening, traveling, boating and water skiing.
Jim was a member of the Elks, Czech Club in Arizona and Retired Firefighters of Denver.
Jim is survived by his wife Jean of AZ, Sons, Michael (Any) Phoenix, Steven of Greeley, CO, Patrick (D.J.) of Littleton, CO, Tom (Tanya) of Torrance, CA and John (Lori) of Aurora, CO; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Adamson Chapel. Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be made to the Denver Firefighter’s Museum in care of Adamson Funeral, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
