Marilyn Rathke Berry

BERRY, Marilyn Rathke Entered into rest after a long illness on February 22, 2002 in Manor Care Convalescent and Rehabilitation Center in Citrus Heights, CA. She was 71.

Marilyn was born on June 3, 1930 in Buffalo, Nebraska. A resident of Vacaville for 2 years.

She is survived by her daughters Deborah B. Shellworth of Vacaville, CA, husband Tom; Pam Sankaran of Granite Bay, CA, husband Stan, and Andrea Berry of Boulder, CO; sister Patricia Lorenz of Branson, MO; brothers Richard Rathke of Jupiter, FL, and Douglas Rathke of Tampa, FL.

Mrs. Berry was a homemaker during her adult life and completed her schooling in Omaha. While working as a fashion buyer in Omaha she met and married Schuyler Berry, an officer in the U.S. Air Force. They enjoyed many years of traveling all of the world as well as raising 3 daughters before retiring to Santa Rosa where they lived from 1979-1999.

She was active in the Retired Officers Association, Bridge Club and Symphony League. She enjoyed her grandchildren, road trips and the San Francisco Forty-Niners.

A service of Remembrance celebrating the life of Mrs. Berry will be held on Thursday, 3:00 p.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church, Vacaville, CA with Pastor Lester Seto officiating. Interment will be private in Presidio National Cemetery where Mrs. Berry will be laid to rest next to her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 60 Bay Street, Suite 401, Staten Island, NY 10301.
